All you need to know about Everyone Else Burns

Looking for a new show to worship? Everyone Else Burns might just be the answer to your prayers…

By Charlotte Briggs, Writer

Simon Bird of The Inbetweeners (yes, the “briefcase…”) and Friday Night Dinner fame is starring in an offbeat new Channel 4 comedy, about a Manchester family in a religious cult that believes Armageddon is just around the corner.

Bird plays overbearing patriarch David Lewis, who hopes to ascend the ranks of the church he’s wholly devoted to. The rest of the family is made up of long-suffering wife Fiona (Kate O’Flynn, Death In Paradise) and children Rachel (Amy James-Kelly, Gentleman Jack) and Aaron (newcomer Harry Connor), who all struggle to strike a balance between the requirements of the church and the demands of modern life.

David wants to become a church Elder but must first get past his rivals (played by Kadiff Kirwan, This Is Going To Hurt, Arsher Ali, Ackley Bridge and Al Roberts, Stath Lets Flats). Meanwhile his family face daily temptation from a couple outside the influence of the church (Morgana Robinson, The Windsors and Ali Khan, Red Rose).

Can the fundamentalist family save their fellow man from eternal damnation, all while juggling modern family life? With a stellar line-up including Lolly Adefope (Ghosts), Liam Williams (Ladhood), Kath Hughes (After Life) and more, you’ll be singing the praises of this outrageous series when it starts on Monday 23 January at 10pm on Channel 4/HD (CH 104/108).

With so many big names in modern British comedy starring in this show, it might not surprise you to know this isn’t the first time many of these funny people have worked together. But it might shock you to find out where! Find out below by clicking on our Comedy Connections graphics to find out more.
