Dragons’ Den collides with the fashion world in this brand new spin-off from Project Runway
Project Runway: Fashion Start-Up. Thursdays from 3 May, 10pm, Lifetime®/HD (CH 208/209). Also available for 30 days in Catch Up > Channels > Lifetime®
The show sees wannabe fashion and beauty entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to top investors, in the hope of getting money and mentoring from the industry’s crème de la crème. This panel includes Katia Beauchamp (co-founder of online beauty retailer Birchbox), Christine Hunsicker (founder of online fashion subscription service Gwynnie Bee), Rebecca Minkoff (an accessories designer) and Garry Wassner (a mentor for the Chicago Fashion Incubator programme).
You won’t believe what one budding entrepreneur has done with the humble sweatshirt. And keep your eyes peeled for Alex Shadrow, founder of UNITtiques, the first online college marketplace where students can shop the latest trends at affordable prices. Shadrow founded UNITiques after a creepy encounter on Craiglist made her realise there must be a safer way for students to rummage in each other’s closets.
To get in the fashionista headspace, we’ve put together a tasty quiz. Are these pictures from the catwalk, or food? Tuck in and find out….
Fashion or food?
