Change is in the air in series four of the unmissable period drama
Poldark, Sunday 10 June, 9pm, BBC One/HD (CH 101/108). Also available for 30 days in Catch Up > Channels > BBC iPlayer
The wait is over! Poldark is back to make your Sunday nights that little bit more smouldering, but what’s in store for series 4?
The new series (which is rumoured to be the penultimate) sees Ross (Aidan Turner) swapping the windswept surroundings of Cornwall for the hustle and bustle of London, as he embarks on a career as a Member of Parliament. Will this reluctant politician get his voice heard in the bear pit of the House of Commons? Or will life in the capital prove a step too far?
Fighting the good fight might just be the least of his problems, however. Back in Cornwall, the dastardly George Warleggan (The Riot Club’s Jack Farthing) is up to no good after losing his Westminster seat to his rival, while Poldark and wife Demelza (The White Queen’s Eleanor Tomlinson) must overcome new challenges in their topsy-turvy relationship.
There’s a host of new faces ready to cause trouble, too, like Ossie Whitworth’s formidable mother, Lady Whitworth (The Thick Of It’s Rebecca Front), and Monk Adderley (Will’s Max Bennett), a devious member of high society who goes head to head with Ross.
Can’t wait for the return of Poldark? We don’t blame you. But before you settle down to watch episode one, find out about the new series and much more by reading our interview with main man Aidan Turner…
