We’re leading the charge to provide the UK with next-generation gigabit connectivity.
We’re rolling out our Gig1 broadband to cities and towns across the UK, and making gigabit speeds available to our entire network by the end of 2021.
Our Gig1 broadband offers an average download speed of 1,140Mbps.
With lightning-fast speeds, you can download a next-generation video game, stream a Ultra High Definition movie and take part in a high quality video call – all in the same home at the same time, without interruption.
Customers taking Gig1 will benefit from Virgin Media’s latest gigabit capable router – the Hub 4. The new router is Virgin Media’s fastest to date and features improved WiFi hardware to provide speedy and reliable connectivity throughout customers’ homes.
The new router makes use of our latest broadband technology, known as DOCSIS 3.1, which we’re rolling-out across our entire cable network.
The Hub 4 boasts more antennae than its predecessor, the Hub 3, meaning it can manage multiple devices at the same time around the home which can all share the hyperfast speed.
