There are now over 3.5 million UK hotspots, so you’ll rarely be without WiFi.

You’ll find WiFi hotspots in all sorts of places – cafes, bars and restaurants, up and down the high street and in UK airports. WiFi is even available in 250+ London Underground stations, and in all Glasgow Subway stations. 

And that’s not all. Stay connected abroad with over 12 million hotspots across the world – and the number is growing all the time! 

 

 

 

 

Ready to get connected? 

If you’re already using the Virgin Media WiFi app, we’ll let you know when there’s an update available through the app store. And if you have automatic app updates turned on, it’ll simply do this by itself. Just bear in mind that when you’ve downloaded the update, you’ll need to complete setup when you first relaunch the app.

Take control with the Virgin Media Connect App. Virgin Fibre customers can scan their home to check the WiFi signal from room to room, reboot the Hub 3 without leaving the sofa and tackle common connection problems.

Plus, connect to Virgin Media WiFi hotspots when you’re out and about, in loads of places like airports, The London Underground, pubs and city centre locations.

 

If you’re using the Connect app on a device with a Virgin Mobile SIM card, the app will authenticate you using your SIM card details and sign you in as a Virgin Mobile customer by default.

If you also happen to be a Virgin Fibre customer, lucky you! You’ll be able to enjoy the full features of the Connect app. As soon as you access the Broadband tab in the app, you’ll be asked to sign in using your Virgin Media account details for your Virgin Fibre service. You’ll then be signed in as a dual Virgin Mobile + Virgin Fibre customer.

 

The Virgin Media Connect app helps you optimise your home WiFi in just a few clicks. To start scanning you home’s WiFi network, head to the Broadband tab of the app, click on 'Scan for WiFi blackspots' and follow the on screen instructions. If any issues are found we’ll give you the advice you on the steps needed to optimise your WiFi.

Once the initial scan is complete you’ll be shown a map of scanned locations. You‘ll then have the ability to scan new locations around your home by clicking on the 'Add a new location' icon, or to re-scan any locations.

 

The Virgin Media Connect app gives Virgin Mobile and Virgin Fibre customers free access to WiFi across the UK. You'll be able to connect in all sorts of places, including:

  • The London Underground
  •  Pubs and locations up and down the high street
  • 15 National Airports: London Heathrow, London Stansted, London Luton, Manchester, Liverpool John Lenon, Glasgow International, Bristol International, Southampton, East Midlands, Cardiff, Exeter International, Inverness, Bournemouth, Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood, Durham Tees Valley.

The legal stuff

WiFi Booster: Add a WiFi Booster to your package; only available to eligible customers for whom Virgin Media has identified (or has verified as identified through the App) a blackspot inside the registered account address. Max. 1 WiFi and 1 wired booster per customer through the App. Max. 3 WiFi boosters total available per account. WiFi Booster is available for £3 extra a month for Virgin Fibre customers.  Additional WiFi Boosters are £2 a month per booster, cancellable at any time on 30 days’ notice.  All equipment remains the property of Virgin Media. It must be returned to us upon request or a charge will apply. Installation: WiFi Booster upgrade requires self-installation via QuickStart and delivery to store via Click & Collect. Add an extra £5 for optional home delivery or £40 for engineer install.  You can choose a delivery date online and an order confirmation will be sent to you via email. Delivery dates are subject to availability and could take over 30 days in busy periods.  If we cannot provide the date you have chosen we will deliver on the next available date and confirm this by email.
