The next generation of mobile speed and reliability is here. Find out what you can do with 5G

By Virgin TV Edit

Welcome to the stuff of dreams. 5G on Virgin Media means no more compromise, even when you’re on the go. It means getting stuff done, when and where you want it. And yep, being pleasantly surprised, all the time.

Meet 5G – our next-generation mobile coverage, all yours when you grab a 5G phone or 5G-ready SIM. Following on from 4G, 5G is designed to offer faster download speeds and great coverage, even when lots of people are using the network at the same time, so it’s easier for you to stay connected when it matters.

From 25 January, 5G will be available on a selection of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S20 & S21 series, Huawei P40 range and OPPO Find X2 devices, among several others. Customers will also be able to enjoy 5G connectivity on the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max in the coming weeks.

Those who have already got their hands on a 5G device and purchased one from Virgin Media from April 2020 onwards will automatically receive a boost to Virgin Media’s 5G services from launch.

The best your mobile never had

In this case, fast and steady wins the race, because 5G offers speed and greater capacity, which means thousands of devices in a small area can be connected at the same time.

Speeds that feel like sci-fi

Imagine downloading an entire series or film just as you’re hopping on the train, sending huge files in a flash when you’re on the way to the shop or hosting a group video call in HD while you’re out and about. As 5G is a lot more responsive, enjoying cloud-based gaming, virtual reality or augmented reality was never easier!

You can also manage and monitor your smart home devices remotely, so you can put the kettle on if you’re close by or check which one of your (many) packages has arrived at the door. Isn’t modern technology great?

Dodge those online traffic jams

5G is designed to zoom through video calls, chomp through file downloads and deliver extreme streaming – even in the busiest areas.
