With the biggest night in the telly calendar almost upon us, discover who will be battling it out for the gongs

The 2020 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards will be held behind closed doors by host Richard Ayoade live on BBC One on Friday 31 July, but you should still expect an epic celebration of top TV from the past 12 months. Because who says you can’t do glitz and glamour from the comfort of your sofa?

 

This year sees factual drama Chernobyl lead the way with an impressive 14 nominations, while royally good drama The Crown, Fleabag and Giri/Haji are also well represented among the incredible nominees.
