New TV shows you’ll love this spring!

Spring is springing into life with all the TV you love in one place on Virgin Media. Check out the new shows you’ll want to get stuck into during the season

By Virgin TV Edit

It has become a tired maxim of the age that we are living in the golden era of TV. But while TV stuttered and shifted around during the pandemic, with productions shut down and ohsomanyclipshows at one point, the start of 2022 suddenly feels like a going out of business sale, because everywhere we look, there’s great telly to watch.

Spring is continuing that glorious trend with quality and quantity, with all the TV you love in one place on Virgin Media. This spring brings together an epic range of channels to keep you entertained, featuring big dramas, hilarious comedies and documentaries you’ll never stop talking about. Here are just a few picks to watch (dependant on your package):

Billy Connolly Does

Find it in On Demand from Thursday 24 February

Get ready for some big Billy style! The legendary comic looks back at his 50-year stand-up career in this seven-part GOLD retrospective that offers an unparalleled glimpse into his life. Each episode is hooked around a different part of him, such as travel and childhood (plus, some of his naughtier moments!). Featuring classic stand-up routines, it’s unmissable.

Celeb Ex On The Beach

Find season 2 in On Demand from Tuesday 15 February

Featuring former Love Island stars Kaz Crossley, Megan Barton-Hanson and Mike Boateng, plus RuPaul’s Drag Race UK queen A’Whora and TOWIE’s James Lockie (whose ex is Megan!), this is the MTV dating show with a difference. Because dating’s hard enough without your ex turning up for the ride. Grab. Your. Popcorn!

Traces

Find season 2 in On Demand from Tuesday 15 February

After the huge success of Alibi’s forensic crime drama starring Molly Windsor (Three Girls) and Martin Compston (Line of Duty), its return was one of the least surprising bits of news we’ve heard. But that’s the only predictable thing about Traces, as this series sees a deadly bombing campaign hit the streets of Dundee. It’ll have you on the edge of your seats.

Hudson & Rex

Find season 4 in On Demand from Sunday 13 February

If you were going to pick a law enforcement partner, the chances are you’d cheerfully reach for the lead and pick the dog every time. Fans (and soon-to-be fans) of the Canadian police drama following Major Crimes detective Charlie Hudson (John Reardon) and his multiscent-trained German Shepherd partner Rex will love this fourth season.

The Righteous Gemstones

Find season 2 in On Demand from Thursday 3 February

This dark comedy from Danny McBride (Tropic Thunder) about a family of famous TV ministers (dubbed televangelists in the US) is back for a highly anticipated second season, with a third on the way. The family might lead opulent lives, funded by donations, but it’s anything but an easy life. John Goodman stars as the widowed patriarch, Eli Gemstone.

Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable

Find season 2 in On Demand from Thursday 3 February

Mel Giedroyc teams up with Lou Sanders to discover the transgressions that have been keeping celebrities awake at night – and hears the tales they somehow kept out of their autobiographies. This series sees AJ Odudu, Jack Dee, Rosie Jones, Katherine Ryan, Lorraine Kelly and more fess up. Whether they can atone for their actions remains to be seen…

Great Escapes With Morgan Freeman

Find it in On Demand from Wednesday 23 February

This series helmed by the owner of the world’s most famous voice delves behind the bars of some of the most infamous – and audacious – prison escapes ever made. From a death-defying escape from Alcatraz to the Second World War jailbreak from the Stalag Luft III Prisoner of War camp, on which The Great Escape movie is based, it follows the notorious doing the unthinkable.

Teen Mom Family Reunion

Find it in On Demand from Thursday 10 February

This new spin-off MTV show sees cast members from various seasons of Teen Mom (including some from the original series, 16 & Pregnant) come together for a tropical holiday like no other. But there’s more to this series than simply rest and relaxation. Far from it, in fact. Expect tears and tantrums as these big personalities collide.
