Celebrating Pride with Cheryl Hole

Happy Pride month, divas (as Cheryl Hole would say)! Although we might not be able to enjoy the occasion together, there are plenty of ways to still celebrate, including watching powerful LGBTQ+ stories in film and television.

Cheryl took to the streets (and the beach) of the UK’s unofficial gay capital – Brighton – to find out what telly is inspiring people this Pride season. We also caught up with her on her own journey and why it’s important to have queer representation on TV.

From taking a trip to drag boutique The Brighton Birdcage and gossiping with fellow drag queen Ex-Girlfriend at Bar Revenge, to strolling through North Laine and visiting Duke’s at Komedia cinema, Cheryl certainly made her mark on Brighton. And Brighton loved her! Her adoring public were never too far away as they eagerly awaited a socially distanced selfie or chat.

For more shows to watch, including Cheryl’s favourites, search for the Pride collection on your TV box. It’s A Sin, Queer As Folk, Sugar Rush, GimmeGimmeGimme and Feel Good are a few of the series featured, while films like Moonlight, Love, Simon, Blue Is The Warmest Colour, Boys Don’t Cry, A Single Man and many more are available to buy in the Pride Month collection on the Virgin Media Store.
