Swipe right for new Celebs Go Dating

A fresh batch of unlucky-in-love celebs are joining the Celebrity Dating Agency in the hope of finding their perfect match. Bring it on!

By Charlotte Briggs, Staff Writer

While fame and fortune might bring a jet-set lifestyle, legions of fans and plenty of fancy perks, there’s one thing it can’t buy – true love. Which is why the Celebrity Dating Agency has been helping famous faces on their quest for happiness since 2016. And what a wild ride it’s been so far.

Across 11 series we’ve seen the likes of Ulrika Jonsson, Alison Hammond, Mutya Buena, Jonathan Cheban, Charlotte Crosby and more sign up for first (and last) blind dates, smooth-talking suitors and er, doing runners when they don’t like their match. Looks like even celebrities aren’t immune to a bad swipe!

And the twelfth instalment promises to be more exciting than ever before, thanks to an in-house shake up and a brand new cast looking for love. So without further do, let’s see what Cupid has in store for the latest series.

This year’s confirmed line-up includes seasoned TV presenter Vanessa Feltz, model Lottie Moss, Love Island alumni Chloe Burrows and Adam Collard, Made In Chelsea’s Mark-Francis Vandelli and comedian Spuddz.

Our predictions? We have no doubt that former Islanders Chloe and Adam will have a tantalising trick or two up their sleeves, thanks to their first-hand experience of looking for love in the villa. As for the rest of the contestants, we’ll just have to wait and see if they’re bitten by the love bug or not.

The latest group of singletons will be in the capable hands of expert matchmakers Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson, as well as senior client coordinator and fan favourite Tom Read Wilson. Plus, new resident sexpert and professor of human communications Dr Tara Suwinyattichaiporn will be joining the dream team to dish out her expertise. Smashing!

And the celebrities will be hitting the ground running as soon as they step through the agency doors, attending their first mixer where they’re tasked with schmoozing for a suitable date. Sparks fly for Adam and Spuddz who compete for one woman’s affections, while Lottie and Chloe soon realise they have the same taste in men. Eek! Plus, Vanessa loses her cool and Mark-Francis makes a decision that shocks the rest of the group.

We can’t wait! Make sure to tune into the first episode of Celebs Go Dating on at 9pm. Sunday 20 August on E4 HD (CH 106). And if you want to watch even more romantic rendezvous then you can watch series 1-11 on Apps & Games > Channel 4 now.

We all know that love is a battlefield. And luckily for viewers, the Celebs Go Dating team has vigilantly captured the good, the bad and the ugly moments of celebrities finding love (spoiler: they’re mostly bad). Get ready to cringe as we round up the most memorable moments and dating disasters from across the series.

Joey Essex and his burping beau

There’s nothing wrong with belching. In fact, it’s a natural part of the human experience. But when you have a burping fit so severe that it results in your date rubbing your back, it’s probably time to get it checked. Flo and Joey’s date did give us a nugget of telly gold though, when the TOWIE alumnus frantically invited the first aid team to join them at the table.

Frankie Cocozza and Charlotte Dawson’s hook-up

All’s fair in love and war. And never has this been truer than when series 3 contestants Frankie Cocozza and Charlotte Dawson ditched their double dates as sparks flew between them. Although the celebrity duo were subsequently banned from dating each other on the show, the two dumpees Kieran and Katie fell in love and tied the knot in 2017!

Gemma Collins on date etiquette

Where do we start? The GC’s time on the show was memorable from the get-go, with the Diva Forever star walking out of multiple dates and even standing up poor Laurence for their Parisian rendezvous. But out of all her shenanigans the most cringeworthy had to be when Gemma ironically lectured her date on manners. Subjects included the protocol on topping up a date’s drink and the pronunciation of prosecco, with Gemma finally refusing to split the bill and hot-footing out of the door. Yikes!

Wayne Lineker and Chloe Ferry’s engagement hoax

The nation’s collective jaw dropped when former Geordie Shore star Chloe Ferry and entrepreneur Wayne Lineker announced their engagement on social media. The dynamic duo both appeared on the ninth series of the show, which saw all the contestants cohabit together at a luxurious UK dating retreat. And although Chloe and Wayne became fast friends in the mansion, their betrothal turned out to be an elaborate practical joke.

Kerry Katona loses her cool

To find your prince you have to kiss a few frogs, which should bring some comfort to Kerry Katona who had a disastrous date with fellow singleton Nick. When the businessman made a tongue-in-cheek comment about how women “overreact” during childbirth, the mother of five was quick to fire back and put him firmly in his place. All while viewers watched from behind their fingers. Taxi please!

Jack Fincham’s jealous meltdown

Former Love Island winner Jack Fincham’s time at the Celebrity Dating Agency was riddled with plenty of toe-curling moments. During his time on the show, he told one date he regretted kissing her while ditching another to follow his wandering eye. But the cherry on top of his bad behaviour had to be when Jack furiously accused his date Chiara of liking their waiter. After trying to humiliate her in front of the staff, Chiara coolly explained the situation away (in Italian!), resulting in a sulky Jack calling time on their date. Good riddance!

Lee Ryan dates a superfan

They say you should never meet your heroes which is certainly true for boy band member Lee Ryan and his date Adele. As one fourth of the noughties hit makers Blue, Lee and Adele’s rendezvous quickly went from bad to worse when it turned into a meet-and-greet session. Adele confessed that she was a huge fan of the band to an increasingly uncomfortable Lee, revealing that as a teen she had posters of him on her bedroom walls. Oh well, there’s plenty more fish in the sea for them both.

Ryan-Mark Parsons’ bad behaviour

Every reality show needs a baddie. And Ryan-Mark Parsons made a pantomime villain look tame with his pompous attitude and acid-tongued quips. The youngest-ever candidate on The Apprentice made his dating debut in series 10 and impressively managed to receive the worst score in Celebs Go Dating history. From “firing” a date via a wax-sealed letter, insulting all his matches and even implying one was “ugly”, Ryan-Mark’s savage remarks resulted in him being put on hold from further dates at the agency. Shocking…
