Here are the best programmes to watch on TV this Christmas. You’ll probably need until at least the middle of January 2021 to watch them all…

Wherever you are for the holidays, whoever you’re spending them with and however you choose to celebrate, one thing is certain in this uncertain climate: Christmas TV. Every channel saves its very best fare for the end of December, and they’re pulling out all the stops to keep you entertained and laughing into the New Year.

We made a list, we checked it twice, to pull together the best TV treats, from stunning dramas and documentaries, to brilliant comedy and kids shows. Ho-ho-hope you enjoy! Read on for our picks in comedy and entertainment. If you miss any shows (as it’s not just the most wonderful time of the year, it’s also the busiest), you can find them in Catch Up.
